Eportfolios are used within many institutions as little more than a repository of academic work or an online CV, but some researchers are moving towards move ambitious and complex understandings of what is possible to achieve within this framework. Some of this work is being done at the University of Edinburgh by Dave Tosh, who is working with Ben Werdmuller to put into practice their ideas about Learning Landscapes (PDF document) in the form of ELGG - a tool which combines community features with document storage and a weblog. Others have imagined concepts like a LifeWorkPlanner, or a Lifetime Personal Web Space - both of which have much in common with Europorfolio's vision (discussed on the Professional and Personal Development page of this site). |
